Under new ownership this year, Acadia Horizon Cottage includes many upgrades, including air conditioning, brand new kitchen appliances, and refurbished waterfront access. The spacious apartment (pictured on the left, below) boasts 2 private bedrooms, perfect for families seeking comfort and convenience. Enjoy breakfast overlooking Norway Cove, a protected area flowing off of Somes Sound. With windows facing the water from the living area and bedroom, each day begins with serenity.
Modern updates make your stay luxuriously comfortable: high-speed wireless internet, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher, and in-home laundry. A full and half bath ensure privacy and comfort. After a day of exploring, unwind in the shared outdoor space, including a terraced dock and screened gazebo.
The apartment, pictured on the right, is accessed via private staircase. Your family will have the entire accomodation to yourselves.

Note: A flight of stairs is required to access the guesthouse. The rental occupies the entire the 2nd floor.

Inside the Guesthouse Living & Kitchen Area:
Enjoy ocean views from the bright, open living space. The newly remodeled kitchen features a full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, making meal prep a breeze. Granite countertops, brand new appliances, and all new flooring make your stay ultra comfortable.
High-speed internet access means you can stay connected. A TV in the living area is included.
Bedrooms: One room has a queen bed, and the other features two twin beds. Both bedrooms have dressers for clothing storage.
Bathrooms: A full bathroom with washer/dryer and a convenient half bath offer privacy and the luxury of being able wash laundry onsite.
The home features air conditioning and heat.

The cottage is just 0.4 miles from downtown Southwest Harbor, easily accessible via a pleasant sidewalk stroll. Known as the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island, Southwest Harbor is brimming with charm, offering summer concerts, art fairs, and visits to the community library. Southwest Harbor offers a tranquil escape while remaining just a 20-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Northeast Harbor is also a short drive away, offering more quaint town amenities.
Dining & Shopping: Discover excellent restaurants, quaint shops, and a laid-back atmosphere.
Outdoor Adventures:
Access Acadia National Park in minutes for hiking, swimming, cycling, park ranger programs, and scenic drives. Rent bikes locally to explore the famed Acadia Carriage Roads, with miles of picturesque paths through the park. Take a short drive to Manset and catch the ferry to the Cranberry Islands, a perfect day trip for exploration and beauty. There is a grocery store located less than 1 mile away, and coffee shop across the street.
Things to Note:
Minimum age of primary renter responsible for payment and damage is 28. The primary renter must be present during the entirety of the stay.
Owners may be occupying the larger, separate home on the property, however it is very private. The owner is an artist whose studio is on the ground floor of the cottage. You may visit and watch her work!
Guests may share the gazebo and yard; we ask all parties to respect each other’s privacy.
Pet Policy: We do not allow pets.
